Available Courses
The following courses are available through the ECSI:
ECSI courses utilize student textbooks and instructor resource materials such as DVDs and the Instructor Toolkit CD-ROM. Additional audiovisual aids can be used in courses, but should not replace those provided by ECSI. ECSI courses are also available online through www.ECSInstitute.org.
Course Textbooks
Course participants are provided a course textbook. These textbooks have been carefully developed to provide the latest information for ECSI courses.
The most advanced of these textbooks is our First Aid, CPR, and AED Fifth Edition text. This is a best-selling college text, meeting the demands of many college
instructors teaching courses that provide 2-4 college credit hours. Another text, that is less comprehensive,
is our First Aid and CPR - Essentials Fifth Edition text. This is often used to meet the demands of instructors offering college courses that provide 1 college\credit hour.
For those looking for college texts to satisfy community-based courses offered through the College's Continuing Education Department,
our First Aid and CPR - Essentials Fifth Edition text and our First Aid, CPR, and AED - Standard Fifth Edition text are most appropriate.
Instructor Resource Manuals
The instructor resource materials provide practical, hands-on, time-saving tools to better support you and your students.
Audiovisual aids present key concepts and demonstrate the fundamental skills covered in ECSI courses.
The ECSI instructor resource materials are designed to help create consistency in course delivery and skill demonstration.
Our DVDs display real-life situations and detailed steps of care. Our Instructor’s ToolKit CD makes preparing for class easy with comprehensive
PowerPoint presentations, lecture outlines, image and table bank, and a test bank.
Online Courses
ECSI has many courses that can be taken for initial or refresher training online at www.ECSInstitute.org. These online courses have been carefully developed to cover the knowledge components of an ECSI course, normally presented through traditional course offerings. These online courses also present the skills that participants will be expected to master in order to receive an ECSI Course Completion Card. Institute Educational Centers and Institute Instructors may offer these online courses as alternatives to traditional course offerings, or as supplemental interactive workbook assignments, then schedule skills performance demonstration and evaluation sessions to verify that participants have mastered the necessary knowledge and skills to earn an ECSI Course Completion Card.
